Continuing my series of notes on daily preparedness.
Inside the main compartment of my pack rides this roll-up pouch.

Obviously, it's a handy pouch for carrying pipe and tobacco. Though I don't smoke the pipe daily, I enjoy having it in my bag for the once or twice a week occasion that I might have some quiet time for a smoke.
More importantly, this pouch is my catch-all container for all the miscellaneous fire starting, repair, and first aid items I carry.
Lighter
Ferro rod
Fatwood
compass
Knife sharpening rod
Bandana
Needles and thread
Duct tape
Tweezers
QuikClot gauze
Ibuprofen and Benadryl

The pouch is made by Mitchell at Colorado Bushcraft. He's an independent maker of quality canvas and leather goods and can be found at Coloradobushcraft .com
