It is the only way for incompetent people to gain power. I believe it is why so many were so quick to follow COVID mandates. All of a sudden they got to sit at desks at the hockey rink, deciding who could and could not enter. They got to play “spy” on their neighbours and report their whereabouts. They got to peek over fences to see if there were too many people in their neighbour’s backyards.

The scary thing is, the world is rife with incompetent individuals who crave power over others.
