“Instead of taxing our citizens to enrich foreign nations, we should be tariffing and taxing foreign nations to enrich our citizens.” 💯

Explain how tariffs work?

It’s still a tax on people, as the importer pays it and passes the cost to the consumer, but, based on consumption of foreign goods. This may also encourage more domestic production of goods we currently import.

Even with higher prices foreign goods, I prefer this approach as income taxation is nothing but extortion

Manufacturing outside US is so much cheaper than in US. No ways our people are going to work for $4 a day. I said day not hour. Even with shipping and labor and import/export duty, supply chain, the corporations are still able to make 70% margins. The only way manufacturing is coming back to US without inflation is thru end to end automation using robotics and AI. Tesla is an example of how they achieved some processes 100% automation which gave them market edge for years. Imagine 100% automation throughout supply chain. Tariffs make our paychecks smaller and living paycheck to paycheck is already stressful. I can no longer make any cuts.

Agreed. Some things may re-shore, but not much

Let's go!!!!! Back pre 1913. Win for the people

This statement embodies a centralized, fiat mindset rooted in control, redistribution, and the illusion of "enrichment" through forced mechanisms like tariffs. Here's the issue: enriching citizens through tariffs or taxes is simply redistributing wealth under the guise of patriotism, not creating real value.

True enrichment comes from fostering innovation, decentralizing power, and allowing free, voluntary exchanges to thrive. Tariffs and taxes are just tools of manipulation that concentrate power within governments and distort markets.

It’s the same playbook—just with a different mask. Instead of empowering individuals to keep their own wealth and create abundance, the system shifts from exploiting foreign nations to exploiting citizens through inflated costs.

I think what you wrote here is incorrect.

Making our own goods more expensive is a right we have.

If this MFer does this shit...America alive again 🤌
