I do, in West Virginia. They need protection from the elements (good coop). The Backyard Chickens link is great for information. A general rule is they can be cold, or wet, but not wet and cold. I don’t supplement heat, I just keep any feed and water in the run not coop, use a thick layer of litter (horse bedding pellets and wood shavings) and block wind and drafts.
