Chinese absolutely putting out better cars.

Same price as a brand new Model Y Tesla

honestly looks like a janky piece of shit. and EV owners don't want an ICE in the mix - it means maintenance, which EV seekers are actively avoiding.

this is comparing apples and oranges

This shit is baller but why werent we hearing about it last year?

Ive never seen so much info about chinese vehicles in my life

Yes, but for $100,000, you can get glued-on stainless steel panels that fly off on the highway.

I heard it's 70k

This is what is available because of currency devaluation. 63k but made with slave labor.

Imagine paying almost a whole bitcoin for a fucking car just because it has heated seats and a bunch of tablets.

and as a bonus, it spies on you for free ...

A couple of years ago German car makers were literally laughing at all those Chinese copies they did. Nobody is laughing now. Lesson learned I hope 💪🏼

"better"?

All I see is a ton of shit that can and will break plus a surveillance nightmare...

thats the CCP mandated stuff. the Chinese people have to comply or they get destroyed.

and wed do well to be aware of it.

but the truth is, the Chinese people themselves are innovating and building faster than anyone else on the planet right now.

Ya, I mean both things can be true. But, taking the surveillance out of it, I wouldn't trust chinese software (or anyone else's) to be reliable enough to keep all these fancy bells and whistles working.

That said, I don't understand why we can't have EVs that have an engine to charge/expand range. That just seems like a no brainer to me.

On the other side of the coin, I wish the US could also have dead simple vehicles that are affordable and reliable. We're getting the shit end of the deal both ways.
