From two smallish trees, I was able to almost fill this bucket with acorns. After shelling some, the meat is leeched to remove tannins. Next, they will be dried and/or roasted.

Where did you learn to do this?
The Inturwebtubes!
I figured , didnโt know if you had a specific video or book.
Iโm growing swamp chestnut oak cause itโs supposed to not have as many tannins
I've heard the tanins dhojld be washed out several times during more days๐ค But I guess it works for you just fine.
You are correct. Raven has been changing the water each day. Even after 5-7 days they were still slightly bitter, so she ground them up and we're soaking them some more.
5-7 days? Is it worth it in the end?
Letting a jar sit doesn't take much effort. ๐ For me this is an experiment in turning natural abundance into something nutritional. To be practical, it would need to be done on a larger scale with a grinder and larger containers for leeching. Either way, it's another step toward self reliance.
