Yes, I'd say it depends entirely on what's at stake. I lose nostr 'identity'? Pfff, good riddance, social media is ephemeral at best in my view. No loss there, start new.

As soon as things become more material however, 'just start new' is a little tricky, yeah. In an ideal worldwide society (yes, I too read that as: "fuck countries, and private property too") I suppose I could begin to imagine it.

Exactly! But also no, in all known scenarios, regaining access depends on the validation mechanisms in place. That effect is valid for a nostr key like it is for #EUID credentials.

Ironically, what worries me a lot about EUDI is how _in_validation is going to be implemented. If we are not vigilant, we could end up in a place where a persecuted individual or group could have their keys revoked at the whim of whomever is in charge of the revokation button.

Thanks, I'll give it a read. So far I'm not impressed with what I know of any state's own electronic ID efforts.
