Does any one understand what “stupid is as stupid does” means?

Still trying to wrap my head around it

Stupid behaviour indicates stupidity

So a bit like “actions speak louder than words” ?

The expression is a play on an earlier idiom, "handsome is as handsome does," which stated that actions, not appearances, determine attractiveness. The phrase "stupid is as stupid does" became popular in 1994 when it was used in the film Forrest Gump. 🤙🏻

💯

I’ve always know to mean it as “your actions showcase your stupidity”

Think “you are what you eat” “actions speak louder that words”

Point being, you are what you do.

"Stupid is as stupid does" means that a person's intelligence or stupidity should be judged based on their actions rather than their words or appearance. It emphasizes that someone's behavior and choices are more important in determining their intelligence than any initial impressions or verbal claims.

Very complex to some but makes tons of sense.

Very complex to me because of all the stupidity that leads to success somehow

Right! 🥴
