Does any one understand what “stupid is as stupid does” means?

Stupid behaviour indicates stupidity
So a bit like “actions speak louder than words” ?
I’ve always know to mean it as “your actions showcase your stupidity”
Think “you are what you eat” “actions speak louder that words”
Point being, you are what you do.
"Stupid is as stupid does" means that a person's intelligence or stupidity should be judged based on their actions rather than their words or appearance. It emphasizes that someone's behavior and choices are more important in determining their intelligence than any initial impressions or verbal claims.
Very complex to some but makes tons of sense.
