This is the first article I've read on quantum computing vs bitcoin that doesn't just outright dismiss the threat landscape.

I was talking to my older brother about this, until quantum computers become readily available why would major corporations developing these quantum computers 1) release to the public and not offer cloud quantum computing at a cost and 2) target bitcoin? If the intent is to steal bitcoin for its monetary value, it's a moot point because the moment the security of bitcoin is compromised at such a level it's value will plummet. At that point an attack would only serve to delegitimize bitcoin not to steal it.
