Idk I've done some research, but the main reason stems from the Jewish covenant with God that Abraham made. Personally glad to have had it done before I was conscious lol. Not sure why I'm seeing so much antisemitism have people ever heard of Judeo-Christian values ?

Have you ever heard of the Scorpion and the Frog?

^Where is this guy off?
I’d probably hang my hat here rn, but I’ve never given the topic much thought.
In the OT, circumcision was a physical sign of the covenant between God and His people -it marked the people of Israel as set apart. But that’s no longer needed as Jesus is the new covenant. The nature of our covenantal relationship with God changes from external signs (circumcision) to internal transformation by the Holy Spirit.
If it was still necessary, then it would be a prerequisite to all church (body of christ) membership.
To the points about “hygiene and easier” -those have largely been debunked by modern science. And the roots of those myths are heavily tied to the western medical industrial complex. Also, there’s numerous cases where poorly executed circumcisions result in unpleasant sexual intercourse and long-term damage. In all, it’s not worth it. And for me, if my son really cares to be circumcised then he’s welcome to do it later if it wants.
Very good 🤝
No external signs under the new covenant? How about baptism and the Lord's supper, sir?
The new covenant is an expansion of the old. There are things that are abrogated in Christ as the once-for-all sacrifice for sins, such as the entirety of the sacrificial system, but other aspects are not abrogated, having instead been changed.
The initiatory sign of the covenant is of the latter sort. Instead of the outward sign of circumcision, applicable only to males, we have the outward sign of baptism, expanded to include both males and females. No longer a bloody right, because sufficient blood for all has already been shed in the Son.
Both circumcision and baptism are meant to represent an inward work of the Spirit, as well, but they are also both outward signs of initiation into the covenant people of God.
"And the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your offspring, so that you will love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live." Deuteronomy 30:6
"...having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the powerful working of God, who raised him from the dead." Colossians 2:12
Because your values require mutiliating babies and sucking the blood from their penises
So as a baby you were unconscious? Just because you don't remember doesn't mean it didnt leave a violent imprint
I think it's really about do you want a smooth Corvette with the top down or Turtleneck that pops up as hoodie lmao people getting so serious about dicks today.. I'm saying I'm glad I don't remember snd I'm glad I don't have the hood. Different strokes for diff folks. I've heard most women I've engaged with on that they prefer no hood on the captain.. but again to each their own in sure the flip side is true too for some ahaha
If a woman has only ever been with her husband, she won't have a preference.
If you don't remember something, it didn't affect you...
That is certainly a take. People with birth trauma might disagree though, like the people who had the umbilical cord wrapped around their necks
You may even change your perspective if you looked into it
Without memory, how can there be any mental effect? Your mentality is based on your experiences. If you have no memory, you have no experiences. I don't have a dog in this race.
