The answer is simple -- abolish property.

Don't make it collective (communism), don't make it private (capitalism), just no more property.

You don't need to "fix the country" or "the planet". You can fix a small town.

I live in a small artists town in the US. It brings in a lot of money from tourism annually. Various artists and some locals travel hours to go to work. The range of incomes vary but I'm happy it has not went through gentrification.

Would I feel this way had I not grown up in poverty? There is no way of knowing.

You can make your town better.

You said it's an artists town.

Just an idea:

The children can make drawings. You can pay for their drawings in ice cream.
