Trump posted "IF YOU COME AFTER ME I AM COMING AFTER YOU" and the DOJ gave a pitch-perfect response.

This morning, Trump posted this:⤵️

It looks to me like a backpedal.

This is Trump talk for "I didn't mean it the way it sounded, Your Honor."

This DOJ knows know to deal with him.

Here is what happened.

Trump's post carefully gave him deniability and wiggle room.

Then, the DOJ filed this request for a protective order:

Really, you have to read it. The DOJ response is calm, measured, subtle, understated.

They didn't take the bait.

They were planning to ask for this protective order anyway. They are basically saying, "Your honor, this is who we are dealing with," but I the tone of the adult in the room.
