They are not the same.
You would really be surprised.
You know when a normie fren tells you about Bitcoin.
I’m nobody special, but my Dad opened up China to the west in 1981 and my family still have about 90% of our wealth and resources there.

What industries there?
This is the company my dad founded in 1972:
It went public in 1986
In 1989, I founded an Internet company inside Densitron, we built data centres.
In 1998, we bought 25% of Vbest, now called Evervision:
https://www.evervisionlcd.com/en/
We already owned factories in Taiwan, so China was a natural expansion.
In 2002, the Volvo family, having sold their company to Ford, came after ours and successfully ousted us in a hostile takeover.
In 2015, one of our subsidiary companies Quixant, now Nexteq bought out Densitron and took it private:
As a family, our head office is in Hong Kong and we still own much infrastructure in China. I don’t get involved in running this as I am much more interested in leading edge technology.
Wow that’s some story!
Can’t tell what Densitron does now, one of those corporate websites that doesn’t explain anything 😂
Evervision seems interesting. You should check out https://daylightcomputer.com/ - I want to get my hands on one but limited runs so far and they only ship to US & EU.
I heard the founders on a pod say they struggled with manufacturing because screen panels are usually done in massive runs so it’s hard to bring new tech to market, but they seem to have something there.
What leading edge tech are you focussed on?
Yes, I discussed a couple of nuanced items about their product with them, but they didn't know my background, so didn't take my comments seriously.
I used a technical term that non display normies wouldn't know, but they didn't get the subtle hint.
Densitron still does LCD displays, they just try to add value to the core product because they no longer manufacture them since we were ousted, they sold off their manufacturing companies because they didn't understand how to run them.
Densitron was only taken over because we owned a sports ground in Blackheath (the old Nat West ground), which we used for company sports events.
They thought it could be worth hundreds of millions if developed, but they didn't know we had put a covenant on it preventing development for 999 years 😂
Think I heard it on nostr:npub1guh5grefa7vkay4ps6udxg8lrqxg2kgr3qh9n4gduxut64nfxq0q9y6hjy
Podcast, he is in VC so might have the smarts to get them re-engaged with someone worth knowing.
Nice job on the covenant 👍 We as a society need more of that else the strip mining will never stop whilst we’re stuck on fiat, all the incentives point to big capital doing more of that to chase growth at all costs regardless of what it does to communities.
If you’re in Aus or SE Asia hit me up, would love to buy you a beer and hear more stories!
We’re booking a world cruise for 2027, so will be in Oz then, if not before.
We both have family there and Densitron had offices in Crows Nest, Port Macquarie. We even sponsored Aussie NASCAR in the late 90’s. You would have seen Densitron’s logo all over the place.
By “Aussie NASCAR” you mean V8 Supercars I take it. Which team did Densitron sponsor and/or who was driving?
I think it was the whole series. We didn't know, we gave the MD of Densitron Auustralia a large marketing budget because you were about to host the Olympics.
He decided to spend it sponsoring NASCAR, we never knew until a UK newspaper wrote an article about it.
There used to be a lot to google about it, but there is not so much now, I found this text:
"Tomas mezera's densitron Commodore when he painted it brown was a shocker i though , looked much better when it was white."
On this old forum:
You sponsored a Bathurst 1000 winner..
Im not big of Aussie Motorsport but that’s the pinnacle here. That’s our Monaco.
To be fair to your Aussie Densitron MD, sponsoring the Olympics was probably out of budget even with what you gave him. Sydney was the second games where it was just multinational sponsors after the yanks did it with Atlanta. Then the IOC and FIFA started running the same playbook.
So it wasn’t the worst call but that was also the peak of Australian sport.
We had Pat Rafter winning majors in tennis. Dominated cricket and won the 1999 WC. Mick Doohan dominating in MotoGP. Golfers winning. The Wallabies were actually good. Luc Longley was starting Centre on the Chicago Bulls second threepeat then Andrew Gaze won with Spurs in 99. Occy won surfing WC. Oh and of course the Adelaide Crows were winning in AFL which made it feel even better 😂
Hard to find a good cheap sport to sponsor back then. We were winning everything.
2 years ago you could have put your logo on Oscar Piastri’s helmet for 20k Dollarydoos - opportunities like that are rare.
Your MD did well to back a proven winner at Bathurst.
Enjoy:
Shit, I never knew that.
We thought he just wasted it 😂
I’m Facebook friends with the MD, I’m messaging him now 😂
Your MD backed him when he went independent and likely wasn’t going to win, but they would have still covered him on TV as a previous winner.
This sort of thing makes me wish my Dad was still alive to tell.
He would have enjoyed knowing that 😁
No doubt that would make it much sweeter
But consider the gift to you to learn the impact he had in his time on this planet which you didn’t even know - most people aren’t going to discover such monumental things their dad did like this, years later.
That is in itself pretty special.
Today has been a good day.
Ironically nostr:npub1guh5grefa7vkay4ps6udxg8lrqxg2kgr3qh9n4gduxut64nfxq0q9y6hjy company TFTC.io stands for
Truth for the Commoner, but it is also an acronym for Thin Film Transistor which is the technology my father backed which is used in all LCDs today.
It made large screen LCDs possible by etching a transistor on every RGB pixel, making the pixel much clearer than trying to multiplex, or scan through rows of pixels like a CRT used to do.
Small world.
Mike, it's a fucking robo-dentist. We've covered all this🤷🏻♂️.
I know, that gives me my expertise on teeth. With my wife being a podiatrist, we have the two most important areas of the body covered 😂
Oh Jesus, you're not one of them "Feet" people are you, like fetish wise😳😜.
Opened a Chinese take away? (sorry couldn't resist).
Wow, read the thread and that's impressive! However, I don't get why you say China wouldn't be interested in intelligence on US citizens? They are both big countries in an economical sense, why wouldn't China spy on Americans, and especially american politicians, to e.g. influence economical policies?
It’s really difficult to understand how other people see the world when it is markedly different to your view.
Your normie friends listen to you talk about Bitcoin, they see NGU, yet not only do they not buy Bitcoin, but they don’t even think about Bitcoin when you’re not around.
How much do you know about the Ethereum Spurious Dragon fork?
Probably nothing, yet Ethereum is the 2nd largest Crypto currency behind Bitcoin with a market cap of $0.5T similar to Bitcoins just a year ago.
So China is an inward looking emerging Empire.
Britain was an empire driven by a tiny Island nation utterly dependant on conquering the world by force and spreading democracy and capitalism.
America created its empire through the adoption of the dollar and its culture via engines like Hollywood.
China is creating its empire by being inward focused. You can go to them and ask to be involved, but they are not looking at the outside world. They have some awareness of the world in the same way your normie friends are aware of Bitcoin, but they are not focused on it.
This has been Chinas approach throughout history, that’s why the Great Wall exists and that’s why they imposed self exile for most of their history.
Their empire will be built by nation states, industries and individuals approaching them.
When you see the world from their eyes, you realise, just like you know Ethereum exists but have to interest in it, that the world exists, but you don’t really have any particular interest in it.
That’s the big picture, you can of course find specific examples which contradict that big picture and if you focus on those, you can create a belief system that aligns with your own, that feels like China is focused on you or your country and those strands of reality will have truth and validity.
But don’t confuse an overlap in a Venn diagram with the whole picture.
If your "Dad opened up China to the west", why does your family still have "90% of our wealth and resources there"? Are your family owned by the Chinese?
It's none of my business, except you brought it up as a potential precursor to your next statement about China's geopolitical and economic worldview... and I have an innate tenancy to #QuestionEverything...
Are your family owned by the British?
Sometimes if you think about both sides of an equation, the answer becomes obvious.
Technically, yes, they are. We all are, are we not? We're "sold" to the state when our parents inadvertently register our births. The birth certificate is the receipt of the sale...
OK, by that definition, then no. None of my family are Chinese, nor do they live in any Chinese territory.
My question therefore is, if you own Tesla shares (for example), does that mean you are owned by America?
If your answer is yes, then, by your definition, my family is owned by China.
To be clear though, I don't agree with your definition.
If we were living in a dictatorship, perhaps you could consider yourselves owned by the state, but we don't (yet).
I do consider myself self sovereign, which means that the UK benefits from me being here, but doesn't own me.
Quite the opposite, I own them. I pay for the state to exist and it exists to serve me, as it does you.
But I am increasing my participation in the world by moving to the multi flag system.
https://www.schiffsovereign.com/lifestyle-design/multiple-flags-overview-1129/
I have been discussing it openly here and in my non dom 0xChat group.
This started out as a tax saving effort, but has since been replaced by a need to avoid the potential WW3, find a more Bitcoin friendly country, find warmer winter weather and lastly reduce my tax bill.
Perhaps your own Bitcoin self sovereignty will gradually align your views to mine, as your view of the world and government is very negative and enslaving.
I would not live a happy and fulfilling life if I thought as you do.
I meant it (my original statement) more tongue in cheek, as a bit of a rhetorical statement, like when Chomsky tells Andrew Marr that he wouldn't be sat there doing what he was doing if he hadn't already been selected as being subservient to the will of the state apparatus... lol
You may think you're self sovereign and that you own them, but good luck with that if they ever decide to come for you and you fall into the trap of identifying yourself to them using your FIRST LAST name... your consent was given away when your parents registered your birth and the only way to opt out now is to disavow your legal identity...
Apologies, I don’t follow the references you are using, I’ve never bothered much with the popular culture world.
Perhaps I am the state you are afraid of. If so, you have nothing to fear, I am, for now, benevolent 😂
Another observation.
If you win this argument, my life degrades, if I win this argument, your life improves.
So some feedback.
I’m not going to loose, but I may not win.
Explain to me why you are trying to win this argument?
I'm not afraid of the state. I probably have a genuine concern that good people do bad things because the state legitimises it.
We like to believe the illusion that we have private property and human rights, but ultimately it's all still just tribalism and they have all the guns lol
I don’t have guns, but I am the “they” that you refer to and I don’t think you appreciate how close to you being the “they” you are.
Enjoy your life, you are the state you are looking for 😁
So if I've read this correctly you're saying that you're a sovereign individual and you're also The Hierarchy Enslaving Yourself...
