I would have loved to include encrypted communication like Signal but even though the signal foundation is a non-profit, we need more decentralized and robust implementations of private messaging that isn't tied to a jurisdiction.
White Noise by nostr:npub1zuuajd7u3sx8xu92yav9jwxpr839cs0kc3q6t56vd5u9q033xmhsk6c2uc makes me optimistic we'll see this happening.

I'm not comfortable with needing to give out my phone number... for a "privacy" app! Signal requires a bunch of permissions on the phone. I prefer Simplex.
Yup - you won't have to give your phone number or a username for White Noise. And you can create as many profiles as you'd like since they're just Nostr keypairs.

For the retards in the back like me, do you have a webpage somewhere that explains the pros and cons of white Noise versus something like Simplex? (in terms of privacy and security)?

By the name of it, I'm guessing part of the process of improving privacy by generating lots of random signal and obfuscating real message data among that output of random noise?
There isn’t any metadata that shows in public in the future there is definitely the possibility of adding noise to how we’re sending messages.
