Went to check out a new to me nostr client today, Nostrmo.

It has a "Terms of user." I thought that was odd for a nostr app so I actually opened it and read it.

... Reading the fine print is something I only really started doing in my post-Bitcoin life.

It reads like a centralized service terms of use with explicitly listed restrictions on free speech. But here's the punch line... It's "FOSS"--GPL 3.0.

Mixed signals.

FREEDOM Open Source Software or die.

Do you not consider GPL to be FOSS?

Yes. The quotations are meant to highlight the application is licensed as FOSS but terms of use are lacking freedom.

If I had the expertise I would mirror just to delete the terms of user. But I also don't see anyone mentioning that client which I find interesting.
