Kieran spent a year solo building zap.stream and people complain that YouTube is easier to use - a company with hundreds of engineers and unlimited funding.
The least we can do is support Nostr builders by making an effort.

If you going to talk the talk walk the walk, if you don’t like it build something new or support something new, if you aren’t dont complain.
It’s also ridiculous to compare it to YouTube, that’s not the point at all.
The problem for me is that the effort has been a massive waste of my time in Nostr land. Almost all of my feedback has been ignored, so I just give up and move on. It gets old after a while. I'm still dealing with the same editor bug I've had in Amethyst since I first joined Nostr. The response was to install a specific rando keyboard just for Amethyst. Issues in Zeus were reported and all I ever saw was that they're piling on more shit. Great. I moved on. Same with Primal. This is anecdotal and of course some devs may listen, but there seems to be a cultural tendency toward not giving a fuck from what I've seen. Maybe I'm wrong, but it's how I feel and I've stopped putting as much effort into it as a user. My attitude isn't totally fair to every dev. I admit that. I'm just exhausted.
I will try Zap.stream though. I rarely make it to live streams but I will make an effort. Yeah we need better bug reporting and more effort from devs to fix them imo. Something that doesn’t rely on GitHub accounts. This could be a mini app probably.
Im only speaking for myself and my experience with trying to fix bugs vibe-coding and it’s really frustrating. Some bugs are a pain in the ass. I can understand why they don’t get fixed. It’s more encouraging to see that you’ve shipped something vs seeing one person’s problem resolved.
It’s also possible that we’ve just been at it so long that many of the bugs are now part of acceptable usage for many devs and users. We may need a fresh take on all the major clients. If I were a dev I’d definitely pay attention to this and even maybe shift focus to improving the app UX and fix old bugs without adding any new features for a while.
They should just install a forum on their site like back in the day. GitHub sucks.
This isn't a children's lemonade stand. We're not soft balling anyone. There are no atta'boys. If someone doesn't build something with the UX the average user expects, they've failed. That's capitalism.

Both points can be true. We need to support builders, and people have high expectations.

Lame excuse, that just doesn’t work anymore. Projects like this are too big for lone wolves. Get some people on board to help out. There are plenty of UX and design folks around here offering their help. Don’t repeat the same dumb mistakes the early open-source scene made. Speaking generally, by the way — I don’t even use zap stream.

Am I not allowed to or what? This is a recurring thing on Nostr — you point out serious issues, and either you get no response at all or some snappy comeback. Like proud, entitled kids. That whole "then enjoy your CBDCs" attitude is part of the same mindset. You can get away with that only until someone else comes along and does it better.
I use zap steam everyday. I love that site. I dreamed about a streaming site where I could receive zaps or spend zaps straight from my Bitcoin wallet. A site where I don't need verification to start making money. It is truly an amazing site and revolutionary.
It's going to take some time for it to get busy because the majority of people still don't use Bitcoin and the big globalist sites have billions of dollars stolen from the people using the fiat scam.
I thought YouTube was mainly for uploading videos and zap stream was for live streaming?
I don't use YouTube because it's dumb and requires too much permissions.

Those who complain usually don't build themselves or help developers improve their products. Open source is about getting involved and constantly improving, so either get started or get off the lawn.
