My theory is that a lot of engineers and science-y types get into art because it takes their minds from the abstract (where they usually live) down to the concrete. That's part of why I started learning guitar a few years ago.

It could also have to do with the affinities between science and art/music, in that they're both mathematical.

The scientist and the engineer

Though the abstract world hold dear

Oft will wander down the street

To creative works more concrete

I ruminate I shall have to pass,

As your poem strikes me, alas,

Tis the sort of thing to bring

From men who can't sing,

And it's making you look quite the ass.

I met your AABB and raised you a Limerick, sir.

I'm sure you know what I'll ask next

As the random lass

Who called me an ass

How does a man sing in text?

🤣

The lovely sonnet

Sound as the song of blue birds

Like a twittering.

Ah the simile

like a good metaphor

but without the teeth.

And drat I miscounted. But Japan be darned, I like it.

🤣
