I think i want to try to replace our Starlink gen 3 router with another router that will give us better coverage ( distance). Looking at TP-Link ax1800. Any recommdations on other routers, or reviews on this one? In our bnb cabin we installed a cheaper version of a tp link, and the coverage seems much better.

Getchu some mesh access points

Are those just the ones you plug into outlets? And keep the existing router?

Tp-link is kind of a sketchy company

I would recommend getting a router that can natively run openwrt, which is open source. There are many options.

Another thing to consider is possibly upgrading the antennas on a router, if there are external antennas.

Can open-wrt / DD-wrt / tomato, etc run a unified mesh network across multiple devices?

I would recommend a Ubiquiti router with Unifi APs. You can add more as needed and setup is dead simple.
