Many talk about Dunning Krueger in the context of a novice that thinks they are exceptional

But few realize it is actually multi faceted:

the novice has an internal inaccuracy *overestimating* his competence

The expert has an *external* inaccuracy overestimating *others* capacity

I look at this the same way: you are brought up with good morals and assume that is how others operate. Sorely mistaken.
