Saying “Verify your seed phrase” with a link to a website sounds like such a scam 🤦
I think that is a scam. I can’t tell which is the legit and which is a scam, but I guarantee you one is defined a scam.
Actually, AFAICT, the pubkey of the post urging a download and discussing your seed phrase is legit.
I think what the post is trying to convey is to remember to verify you have a working backup of your wallet by verifying your seed phrase prior to firmware update.
In general, always buy 2 hardware wallets…so you can verify your seed phrase backup without affecting the hardware wallet you intend to upgrade…because if your seed phrase backup is faulty, your hardware wallet has no backup and you might lose your stash if upgrade goes wrong.
Yes the post is legit, it’s just very badly worded.
I disagree about two HWW, you just need to verify the seed before sending significant funds to the wallet.
A valid seed is a valid seed, you should have 100% confidence that it’s valid at all time and not need to randomly ‘verify’ it prior to upgrades.
Well, we agree that if you don’t have significant funds on the wallet, you don’t have to verify your seed in a non-destructive fashion.
But a lot of people never verified their backup and hence it’s too late to not fund the wallet.
Can you somehow verify the firmware load?
