I’d suggest the youth of today working hard on English so that one day when in trouble you can call out to the world for your rescue instead of the Chinese community, which is basically unprofessional. Especially if you are a dissident at heart, not necessarily have to be an overtly radical one in real life, you are most likely to be one some day in the future. And at that stage, you will be isolated and left with no hope for assistance from Chinese community, the only place that empowers you will be the English language community, which is about equivalent to the world. But people usually don’t see far, so when the day comes they will feel regretful.
