Trying to understand what just happened between Trump and Zelenskyy:

- Trump claims WW3 could happen if peace deal isn't reached

- Trump ends the meeting early and kicks Zelenskyy out because Zelenskyy was disrespectful

I'm no statesman but if WW3 is on the line I think tolerance for disrespect would be wise to reach the necessary conclusion?

I've basically paid 0 attention to the Ukraine war since it began, so ELI5

I've since learned more about the background of the situatiom here. Sounds like a huge mistake on Zelenskyy's part.

I don't really feel qualified to summarize but here goes. They had a deal. Z was there to sign the deal. Then Z tried to change the deal on live TV.

Let's assume what played out was the plan all along from 'both sides' - if that's the case, who is being manipulated and why?

And how did you come to that conclusion ?
