Yeah, I installed docker during Ubuntu installation. It was the right version number but didn't see the file even when I pointed straight at it. So I nuked the box and installed docker the proper way and low and behold it worked. I'm too dumb for this shit.

Yeah the official installation steps are best on ubuntu. There are things I just don't let Ununtu manage. nodejs, java, etc...
