True.. aside from aids terminating the 60s and 70s and a cold war..., those were simpler times and joy was easier to find.
Something magical about action / family films (say up until early1990's) which predated CGI.
Everything was framed so beautifully, where as action sequences these days have a dizzying blur of cameras swooping all over the place.
Almost every happy childhood memory: It missed out the rather lovely scene with Madonna on all fours with her knickers showing in the music video for her single Into The Groove.
This is the scene I was referring to from Madonna's Into The Groove video - purely for historical reasons you understand.
