Depends, elonmusk@tesla.com is a much stronger and verifiable username than potus@anon-nostr-identities.com.
This is because NIP 05 builds atop of the typical web security we are all used to relying on.
You wouldn't trust logging into a bank online if the domain was bank-of-america2.com but why do we trust bankofamerica.com?
We use domains to verify the source of content, NIP05 leverages this to enable verification of identities.
That does not make NIP-05 = “verification” though.
