Oh boy, looks like we're having more family visiting tomorrow than what we thought. I really didnt want to break out our good, grass fed steaks from Hometown Meat Mkt. Kinda want to save those for just us. Does that make me a horrible person? And I think it matters that most of them dont appreciate good quality meat as much as we do. But I'm still torn about it. #grownostr #foodsnob

Meh. Go get "acceptable" stuff for their unrefined palettes. Keep the good stuff for yourself.
Absolutely not, itβs difficult to do nice things for people who donβt appreciate it.
If they won't appreciate them, don't break them out!
Def doesn't make you a horrible person. And if you still want to feed them well (and with well-raised meat), do you have ground beef? So much yummy stuff you can do with ground beef without dipping into the precious steak supply.
Thats a good thought, thanks.
Don't do it. Make a casserole for people who just want to eat but not eat well. Everybody loves a casserole. And it's cheap and easy to feed a bunch of people.
Good idea.π
A good, easy meal that everyone seems to love and doesn't break the bank is Salsa meat (meat can be anything, ie chicken, ground beef, ground elk, beef tips, pork cubes). Brown the meat in a frying pan with Paleo Pink seasoning. At the same time cook some riced cauliflower. Put cooked riced cauliflower in casserole dish. Put browned meat over the top. Pour a jar (or 2) of salsa over the top. (I like chipotle salsa). Cook in oven at 350 F for 30 minutes if meat and cauliflower is still warm or more like 45 minutes if you make ahead of time and it is refrigerated. Melt cheddar cheese on top (Tillamook extra sharp cheddar is best). If you are cooking for 30 minutes or less, you can add the cheese at the beginning. If you are cooking for 45 minutes, you are better off adding cheese after 20-30 minutes so it melts, but doesn't start getting crispy. Easy, peasy.
That recipe sounds delicious, thanks for that.π
Never save meat when sharing with friends and family.. There will always be more meat. We are the fragile part of this equation. Itβs not about the meat, itβs about the lives you touch and the people you meet and the meat is a by-product of a good relationship. π
Definitely keep the steaks! They likely donβt even know you have them anyways lol
