I was just making a not so subtle jab against Raspberry PIs.

Enterprise Thinclients are cheaper, much faster and generally more stabile without all the USB storage nonsense. They can also be upgraded.

If you want to have some fun I would recommend using dietpi and running AlbyHub in a docker container.

This will make it easy to run other services as well, ie PiHole, Grafana, Gotify, Uptime-kuma, Prometheus and Cadvisor

Running diun and watchtower for automatic updates

This should run on anything with 4GB or more

what do you mean? You need a node at home (that's the tutorial for) or you pay for the hosted version (alby cloud). either way, you need a ln node (custodial by yourself or others)

just hadnt seen this setup before where you run the hub as a custodial lightning service, where you let the actual channel management to a lsp ☺️

only seen the umbrel/start9/raspiblitz bij custodial options.

but this is a very nice entry option to start without buying an expensive ssd and keep the costs low to try it out.
