Every Nostr dev should think about this 👇🏼

Are you trying to build a true censorship clients of Nostr or are you trying to build for mass adoption?

Due to the discourse viewpoint that has been going on since the Damus problem about the need to align the customers with the regulations due to the possibility of attracting more people here, instead of the focus being first on making the customers resilient to any censorship, which is what is really needed.

I'm not proud at all of the celebration that was made by the developers for the acceptance of the “dictator” Apple in the step back that Damus had to take to stay on Apple when there are alternatives on Apple from other customers to access the network.

When China banned Damus, there was no concern for the Chinese Damus users, in creating an alternative for them in the client they used.

And the very discourse in this sense, saying that it's better to fit into the rules than to walk in the direction of being completely uncensorable, which in my view is the real purpose of Nostr..

In my opinion. The resiliance to censorship comes from the redundant relays and the number of different clients using the same protocol. There are no guarantees that a particular client is uncensorable. Only that with so many to choose from, through many different channels, the particular client and relay is irrelevant. Users that were blocked from Damus in China on their iPhones use Plebstr or snort or when those are blocked perhaps a specific Chinese based nostr client and set of relays spreading via word of mouth to their friends and family. I would expect that Chinese government would be blacklisting all publicly known relays for example. One client fails and two replace it, one relay goes down and two replace it, like the heads of a hydra. The relays are redundant and the clients are redundant. Damus is just one of those clients. And every client that is open source will be Re distributable with little effort. Nostr is not the client, it is not the relay, it is the protocol. Just my thoughts. 👍

Yes fore sure, I know that

Amethyst dev build/helped WHO apps for vaccine passports. IT world is full of naïve people, or as Olavo de Carvalho used to say, “Imbecis Coletivos”.

Sem dúvida 😅
