Had GPT-4 completely rewrite the Snake game using a Bitcoin logo in place of the apple. Each time I played the game I kept asking GPT-4 to add features and aspects to the game that I wanted. I did not write *any* of the code.

I paid the upgrade fee to use GPT-4 instead of GPT-3 (didn't realize it was actually GPT-3 in my previous post) and this time it had zero bugs or errors that I had to ask it to fix.

Play the game at: https://nostrgram.co/gpt4/btcsnake.html

In total I asked it for 11 revisions and updated the game with the code it gave me each time.

Bottom line: Programmers are out of a job in the years to come. Bitcoin better moon soon so I can retire lol. Seriously, though, I'll be using GPT-4 to create other apps and things and push its limits. So far I am very impressed.

s/o #[0] for the Bitcoin apple idea

Are you a programmer? Lot of programmers saying it’s going to take away jobs but the examples they post are programs that have been written a million times before

sorry *non-programmers

Yes I am (25+ years). Given how easy it is to direct GPT-4 to write code using the direction I'm giving it, I can only imagine how good v5/6/10/25 are going to be. It may not remove jobs *today*, but the day is coming. That's what I'm saying.

Hmmm, these things are trained on past data. I’m skeptical about overarching claims like this because humans keep wanting new things that have never been done before. You think Chat GPT could have come

up with the Nostr protocol given a vague question like “write me a decentralized social media program”?

Still, I’ve started using GitHub codex and can’t believe how nice it makes coding, so I’m all in for these tools and think they will totally change how software dev happens.

Absolutely. Not only will jobs be displaced but entire industries.

I’ve been wondering about this, and I think it will lead to more software being written by more people, and it’s one thing to get the first prototype working but will chatgpt be able to debug like a human? And if there’s lots more software out there than we’ll still need lots of developers.

Plus on the security side, I keep hearing how things keep getting worse and more complex with so many software layers these days, that idk if there really won’t be a place for a human developer anymore.

That’s the first order effect. But 2nd order is that software need not be written at all when an AI system handles all the functions automatically

Agreed. I just published an article about it

Cool.

I just played and found a bug.

When you hit the wall, the game over dialog comes up with score, but you can still control the snake under the dialog and continue increasing the score displayed at the top area.

Yeah it's not perfect, but it's cool how I can tell GPT-4 what the issues are and it "gets" what it did wrong and fixes it.

Any step by step guides on how to do this?

I couldn't say. I'm just playing around with it.

That's fuckin cray

It might be able to write bits of code, I haven't seen evidence it can write complex architecture. It will replace programmers, it won't replace engineers and yes there is a difference.

Not yet for sure, but in time, yeah, it will I think. I say that because I've been using OpenAI for quite some time and the improvements from one version to the next are breathtaking.

Good to know. Gives me probably ten years or so hopefully.
