I found this website, seems like good info about miners, prices, and potential income:

https://www.asicminervalue.com/miners/bitmain/antminer-s19-xp-140th

I believe I may have near 1000 kWh extra solar power each month, which, not sure if I'm doing the math right but, I believe I could power a 1400 W miner 24 hours a day (drawing from the grid at night) or a 4200 W miner for 8 hours a day when the sun is up. Can I configure a miner to only use excess power I generate and never draw from the grid?

What are the best resources to figure this out?

BTW, finally got an anon Nostr set up and hoping the magice happens now 😂

Just a thought, but you could get a bunch of obselete miners for peanuts, and connect them up with "dumb" 24 hr timers from a discount store, to just run for those hours when you're sure to have surplus.

4200W on the cheap :)

Mining software usually handles the dropout gracefully IME

Thanks for the recommendation! great idea. what's the best place to buy used miners? That website I linked seemed to show options, those good options? also, are used miners safe from malware etc?

That I don't know, but I'm sure someone does!
