A comment I made in a thread but thought I'd blast this out as a stand alone.

Fun Fact:

Did you know that by using different knitting techniques on say a scarf, you can encode a 24 word seed phrase into the garment?

You can wear your cold storage across boarders and no one would ever be able to tell except another pro knitter with the decode schema.

Woah! Tell me more! Not that I ever plan on knitting a scarf, but it sounds very interesting.

That's cold storage to keep you warm in the cold.

I think about schemes like this all the time

Same. It’s super fun.

Tbh, inscriptions could be a component 😜

Reminds me of Incan quipu

You can 3D print a functionally graded (varied composition) titanium alloy pin and have it surgically inserted in your foot. To decode, cut pin into thin slices and read with an XRF gun, and apply your decoding scheme. No one will expect it!

If you do try to make such a scarf, I'd suggest being sure to borrow from computer science and include a header and crc or some other checksum. be aware that if you flip the scarf over, you also change which stitch shows.
