for anyone who missed it, notedeck actually has wifi broadcasting (multicast). anyone using notedeck/damus-android on the same wifi can recieve notes back and forth without an internet connection:

once we have our giftwrap DMs app this will be way more useful. all we need now is bluetooth and negentropy sync between notedeck nodes. soon? (tm)

Stop! 😂 ... please stop!

Oh wow, no setup required? As long as they are on the same network they can see each other and talk to each other?

yeah unless the router blocks multicast.

Sweet.

I have nostr:nprofile1qqszfrv3m6acxyqy4ghuega2n74rntkrfg9sp4pmse94vul56gnul8cpzpmhxue69uhkummnw3ezumt0d5hs6fyndk really close to a first version using BLE and Negentropy to actively sinchronize local relays, maybe we should align on it to make them compatible?

whoa very cool

Great, is it possible to communicate via this network only? So we can create closed groups on conferences?

yeah just launch with -r multicast

🔥🔥🔥

I look forward to someday understanding this, but excited nonetheless

This is actually really cool.
