What Pokey does is to locally broadcast events received from your inbox relays to other apps installed in your phone. That saves them to be running in background while connected to relays (wich wastes a lot of battery). The idea was to be battery/connection efficient so only Pokey keeps connected to relays while others just listen to Pokey.
You can test it with Citrine, which has this feature enabled by default in Settings

That's the only work done by Pokey in background, keeping an open WS is expensive.

That's not possible on mobile. Amber works with mobile apps and so it's your browser the one should work with Amber. There is not much extra work to do from the relay. The key element is how the user defines its inbox relays list, that's it.
There nothing special to do out of what you just did. I don't think it's related to p2p.band keep in mind that app does nothing but collect data other publish to nostr, it's a dumb app with 0 logic behind.
