I'm pretty butt hurt about Texas taxing EV owners 200$ per year. I just bought one. That's more than the average person spends on gas tax. I bought this shit with not paying for gas in mind when I budgeted it. I'm considering moving. Would love a cheap place north of Georgia but still around Appalachia. I was raised in the mountains before I left for education.

They're just ahead of the curve. EV taxes are an inevitability.

Would be nicer if they could spread it out. Like monthly somehow. Makes it worse I have to pay it all at once.

... That should probably make us angry - taxes like that just being treated as inevitabilities...

And one of the more Libertarian states being among the first to levy it, capitalizing off of the anger that many conservatives feel towards anything they think of as too environmentalist.
