I find it very difficult to apologise if I've done nothing wrong.

I did it about 2 years ago to keep my job. If I didn't apologise, the situation would have likely blown up & caused me to lose my job. It made me feel dirty & weak though.

I think I'd approach the situation differently today. I don't think I'd be apologising but I also don't think I'd have gotten myself into a position where I felt I had to.

The 4 agreements helps me to navigate these situations now:

- Be impeccable with your word

- Take nothing personally

- Don't make assumptions

- Always do your best

I'm talking about personal relationships not financial transactional relationships.

People get weird when money and status is involved
