So, I signed up to BlueSky yesterday.

My assessment!

It's for people that yearn for Twitter V1.0

It's got a lot of general activity and if you don't like Xitter and want Twitter back, then it's great.

But nobodies talking about the technology, nobodies trying to change the world and most people are indifferent to Bitcoin and other freedom technologies.

I don't think we need to worry about millions joining BlueSky, it's the townsquare for normies that want a townsquare that isn't controlled by a billionaire.

In the same way Bitcoin has been forging a path to global adoption for the last 15 years, so NOSTR will gradually be understood by more and more people for the inability to control or censor it.

We don't need the huge adoption for NOSTR, I don't believe we've even had the NOSTR equivalent of pizza day yet.

This saying for Bitcoin applies to NOSTR IMHO:

NOSTR is for anybody, but not for everybody.

If you want to swing by my Bluesky account, (I may show up once in a while), my account is:

Bluesky is for sure social media nostalgia. But it's also a place for mourning their loss of outsized influence thanks to previously progressively-aligned Trust and Safety standards.

They are willing to suffer just as many bots and scams on a smaller network just so they can get a hit of ideological purity by blocking someone and once again participate in the performative gesture of letting the hivemind know they are still a "good person".

100 to both your takes. It’s like Twitter and that’s not a good thing.

I can't even EVEN with this condescending champaign socialist tripe:

I see this a lot from far left folks

Yeah. They always hate on us Christians 🤷‍♀️ we are so hateful and intolerant I guess

Very insightful and well-worded 🏅

I found the original Twitter functionality when I joined Nostr. And honestly the liberal normie community and I parted ways years ago so I have nobody on BlueSky that would listen to anything I say.

I'll stick with Nostr until all of the other networks just become relays in our network. I really think that's coming.
