I've canned since a kid, and never daw or heard of this. Great idea, I'll never have empty jars again.

Ya, and use that water when you want to boil things then refill. Saves some time and energy to boil from room temp.

Damn good idea.
I read it in book years ago about emergency preparedness. Not my idea. It just talked about ways of using emergency supplies to keep fresh.
