I grew up on the NC-SC border and mine was one of only three families I knew who took shoes off… my parents got the idea while living briefly in Canada.

How Southern do you have to be for this to be normal? Because that would be cool!

I’m in the Piedmont of SC it’s pretty common here. If your family calls lunch dinner , they take off their shoes indoors

This makes a lot of sense! I now blame my suburban upbringing 🀣
