but nowadays I see that instead of "Bitcoin fixes this" it's "Bitcoin perpetuates this".
No matter how many books, articles, guides, conferences, podcasts they consume about how evil is the fiat system, yet they go back using it, instead of creating parallel economies, bitcoin circular economies.
So don't buy a house or pay rent, or eat, or go buy your kids a treat, or do literally anything that touches fiat? 😆
We all want that, but its a reality for very few, in some very select areas of the world.
If you are not ready or willing to do these sacrifices, then Bitcoin is not for you. Perpetuating the use of fiat will not make Bitcoin stronger but the way around.

Your problem is you sometimes get fixated on bitcoin as if its the end goal. Bitcoin is a tool, a means to an end. We need bitcoin to improve our lives. But if bitcoin cant buy my lumber today or my steak today, then I'll need to get creative.
The end goal is eating that steak and building a house where my family can be safe. Bitcoin today can help me do that by preserving my value across time. It is not yet ready to fully take the place of the fiat currency that is asked for when I buy those goods.
That's just reality.
If your approach is "then dont build" or "the dont eat", we just strictly disagree on that point. Difference between us is, i'm not out here trying to force an approach on you. You are, and I dont think thats helpful.

Nope he's right. Bitcoin is only freedom money when used in a parallel economy. Using it as a commodity to use as collateral in a debt based fiat economy weakens the parallel economy and ensures bitcoin never gets real adoption. We feel strongly about p2p digital cash as did Satoshi. What do you believe in?
I'll bet you satoshi also used fiat currency, even months and years after creating bitcoin. How do you explain that? Why did he not march forward and refuse to participate in a fiat world and stand firmly on his ideologist principles and refuse to trade in anything that had to do with fiat.

Cool thing is that in Thailand one can buy Bitcoin anonymously because of cardless withdrawal from ATM.
It works since the counterparty at the ATM doesn't need your name to process the transaction. You do that from home on the sofa wjth your phone. They merely send you the QR on the ATM terminal display
