Okay, so joker from the Batman is clearly a bad guy, but I’ve seen more fans of the joker than Batman.
What makes him so appealing to us? Is it his nihilism? Is he the embodiment of the crazy world we live in?

My semi-deep thought from the armchair?
I think we relate to villains because they start out good and get broken by life. I also think society as a whole has quit encouraging people to look up to heroes and be challenged to be better. We live in the era of "my truth" "my way" and "my reality." We used to have ideals to look up to and strive towards even if they were utterly unacheivable.
Now we’re left with relatable villains and wondering how long it’ll be before we resemble them.
That’s as scary as it is true
There are some young men and women trying to break that mold. Love him or hate him, I think that's part of how we explain the Jordan Peterson phenomenon.
It does give me hope.
I think he’s an overall positive person, I don’t agree with everything he says ofcourse, but he makes us think.
Let’s hope we come out of this villain phase with some optimism ✌️
He is a free man. Living with his own rules. Speaks to people. Kind of like Fight Club.
It's Only After We've Lost Everything That We're Free to Do Anything
That’s deep, but again scary, if this is the case, do we really want to be free? Don’t we want to be captives of at-least our social bonds?
We all tire of the constraints of our social bonds, yet know the alternative is to be alone. The Joker is alone in his madness and appears to be fulfilled in his endeavours. Like Rick Sanchez
Very interesting. Characters like Joker and Rick fulfill a deep thought we have ourselves, which is “what would it be like to not have any social obligations” or perhaps even a step further “to fuck social structures and deliberately try to dismantle them”.
Cannot deny the attractiveness of the thought.
Yes. And the more mature and experienced we get, the less we try to fuck things up. We try to understand why they exist and wether they are virutuous or not. Its easier to live vicaroiusly through our villains.
