Yep, I just saw it again.
First I thought it was 1 account reposting the same note, but it's not. New accounts with the same name and posts pop every minute.
Yeah, he keeps spawning new accounts to send the spam. He keeps the same image though. I just added the full url of his avatar picture to my filter list.
This can easily be blocked, just not all relay owners want to do it.
I'm sure there are a lot of relays that aren't being monitored. And too many are just set to relay everything, so easily abused by spammers.
As spam increases on the network, relay operators will need to implement rate limiting for instance, or they'll just get flooded with spammers until their relay just dies under load.
