ETFs introduce more ways from them to make money from both sides of price manipulation. People are deluding themselves if they think the suits care what the price of an asset is, as long as they are making money from it.

True and we need to distinguish two types of players here. Brokers on one side earn more money as the volume is higher so they don’t care about price. Another players are ETF managers who have interest to sell as many shares and they will attract more buyers if the price of an asset trends higher because it attracts more interest.

So, basically some suits do care about the price

You omit the fact they make money from shorting it, too.
