Previous boost: I recently read a book that was published in 2002, but set in 1993.
For me, the gap between those two dates has always seemed HUGE because I turned 5 in 1993 and 14 in 2002.
2014 to today? No time at all.

When I started college in 1979 at the University of North Carolina there was a restaurant in town called Hector's. It had a sign that said "Famous Since 1969", which, even in 1979, sounded like "Famous Since Tuesday". It turns out, though, that they put up the sign when they opened - in 1969.
