I just lost a friend I did a liver biopsy on…my only consolation was I gave him 2+ years heads up on what was coming. Sometimes it happens suddenly in the ED, which blows.

I came in on a day off after a false negative biopsy by one of our IR guys. I rarely do liver biopsies any more but I did a shit ton during fellowship. Most of the trick is proper patient positioning.
