this is also why I visit with my parents a lot, it must hurt to not have kids in the house to care for anymore after so many years. The quiet you wanted so bad is too quiet when it happens. #[0]

I have some half-baked theory about parenting essentially being entropy-management.

Children (toddlers especially!) are the universe’s most effective agent for the creation of entropy and parenting seems to be one long attempt to channel the tide of disorder away from destruction, toward creation.
