this is also why I visit with my parents a lot, it must hurt to not have kids in the house to care for anymore after so many years. The quiet you wanted so bad is too quiet when it happens. #[0]

All cyclical. Eventually you can have kids and cut them up fruit 14 times a day and have zero quiet 🤣
You’re so right!!! I totally get it.
I remember how excited I was to paint my bedroom bubble gum pink. I was in the 8th grade. I thought it was teen vogue worthy with my white sleigh bed and black boa curtains… ofc my mom was egging me on agreeing it could be in a magazine.
I’m an adult and miss the constant reassurance and the confidence boost my mom would give me. It’s a blessing to have that.
Awww this got me tearing up. Thank you for sharing this memory, it’s so sweet.
Not looking forward to it. Can’t catch breath in the chaos, but the chaos is life.
Love the way you worded this
I have some half-baked theory about parenting essentially being entropy-management.
Children (toddlers especially!) are the universe’s most effective agent for the creation of entropy and parenting seems to be one long attempt to channel the tide of disorder away from destruction, toward creation.
