haven’t been to a bank in years, do they still have cookies at least
Not even cookies. Or coffee.
at least they used to give you a nice cookie before fucking you
And not even a dum dum 🍭
I’ll date myself a little with this story, but when I was a little kid, I remember going once with my dad to the bank and wearing my new cowboy costume, complete with matching toy revolvers. They were made of metal and this was before they put the little orange tips on them. I laid one of them on the teller counter and the teller laughed as she gave me a lollipop. My dad apologized and realized he shouldn’t have let me wear them in and told me never to do that again. 🤣🤣🤣
Pictures or it didn’t happen 😆
Lol I wish I had pics or a video. Unfortunately nobody walked around with cameras back then unless you were a tourist 😂🤣
I still take the free lollipop whenever I have to do anything with a physical bank
those dum dums used to make it all worth it
Having them ask questions as to why you are pulling $10k cash out and what you’re going to do with it. Do whatever I feel like doing, lady.
I know she’s required to ask those questions, but no way am I giving her any kind of real answer.
Although this is obvious in most of the world, and in this case in the US, in the EU this doesn't exist. I can "wire" any practical amount of euros and it will be spendable by the receiver the same day, or in some cases one bank day later. Without any fee paid. Sadly the EU banking system is more efficient than on chain or LN transactions, for now.
Centralization has some benefits, but final settlement and censorship resistance isn’t among them
Which is important but when thinking of onboarding Europeans there is no benefit in transaction efficiency yet. Of course understanding the other benefits will convince many people, but those aren't in the category ease of use where most Europeans tend to look.
