Milled this up but no idea what it is!

Cherry?

The tree it came from didn’t have any fruit. It is quite a dark wood though, not sure if it’ll lighten when dried

Where did it come from?

My garden, I’m in the U.K. if that helps

I think it’s most likely European beech, though it’s darker than examples I’ve seen. Maybe it’ll lighten when dried 🤷‍♂️

I think the bark is too smooth to be elm and the leaves have smooth edges
