I think the two question are widely unrelated.

Would I care? Yes. Folks need to wake the fuck up about money & a bolt icon is intriguing.

Do they make posts better? No. They accrue after a post, and they're easily gamed.

In the client I am developing, I am avoiding any feature related to money. This, of course, includes "zaps".
