Any chance of Signal ever coming to f-droid? Waiting for a nostr client too.

Use molly, it is open source signal clone with more privacy features.

Probably not 🥺

There was a beef between FDroid and Moxie a few years back. Moxie didn't like the idea of FDroid signing Signal for him. Ended up with Moxie refusing to let FDroid host it. Signal is reproducible so it's easy to automate the build and verify it.

Fdroid doesnt like our dependencies Google translate + QR code processing. There is also some weird size limitations...

I am not sure if it would make sense to push things there.

Perhaps there could be a build without Google Translate built-in for this case, at some point.

Yep, i was thinking on doing app flavours, but I have not found the time yet. 😞

FDroid not the easiest repository to work with. They take forever to build stuff and have a bunch of dumb rules. Hosting your own repository with them as much easier.

Zapped for role modelling FOSS.

Is all this running on GrapheneOS?

I was wondering where that came from! Thanks! I'll be getting a new Google phone soon. Right now I'm using a OnePlus. Can't say I really like where OnePlus went.

GrapheneOS only works on Google phones AFAIK 🥴

Trouble somewhere with NIP57.

You're right about the Pixel. There's good reason for this, discussed at length on the GrapheneOS website.

Also, look at which devices are supported, e.g. the Pixel 5 is where I'd start now (and what I'll probably upgrade to this year), as well tested by now... but they're keeping up with Pixel 7 if you're going straight for the bling.
